Sport Horses of Knighton Ranch Home Page

We are getting out of the horse business and selling all our horses. We will take the best offer, but will only let horses go to good homes!! Please call us if you have questions-NO HORSE TRADERS PLEASE!!!
We believe that in order to be enjoyable, a horse must be usable. Our Sporthorses have all been raised and/or trained by us. We use them primarily for eventing, but they are also worked on the ranch, taken on mountain pack trips, used in training clinics and farmed out to the local college as schooling mounts for the students. If you are interested TB, or TB cross babies out of Silesia Flash, see Babies page. Below are also photos sent to us by owners who purchased foals from us, and are now enjoying them.

Astra*SOLD*

6 year old molly mule out of Reg Tenn Walker mare

Astra is well put together with no scars or injuries. She is easy to catch, tie, load, and trim feet. She has been packed and ridden. She likes to go and I don't have enough time to ride her. She is a great saddle mule as well as pack mule and has the Tenn Walker go, with the friendly disposition. CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO! of Astra trotting bareback in a halter with neighbor girl riding.

*SOLD*Faster Master Blaster

Registered AQHA gelding Born 2003, out of Encore Bars Chi '89 by Sliesia Flash '89(Our TB stallion)

"Gauss" is an appendix QH, 15.3 hands, straight legs, and large feet. He is started over low jumps and has good form. He has also roped calves at brandings, ridden in parades, and been in rough country moving cows all day in blizzards, and pitch darkness. He isn't flashy and won't be a great athlete, but will be a great reliable partner that won't take lots of work or training. CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO! AND HERE FOR VIDEO!of Gauss at a jumping clinic.

Wild Fly

2005 registered sorrel Thoroughbred filly

(Silesia Flash'89 X Pappy's Heroine'84)

Wild Fly is just started under saddle, she is 15.1 hands, and flashy. She has a nice free jump, and movement. Her gaits are nice for dressage, but she is small and light boned. I think she has good movement to score well in dressage. CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO! of her trotting and CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO cantering! Below on an impromptu pack trip, she was shod and packed for the first time. Climbing 2000 feet elevation and spending the night on the top of the Prypr mountains with no complaints and in severe rocky conditions!

Mean Ma Peters

1997 registered dark brown 16 hd Thoroughbred mare

By Slewdledo(Seattle Slew) X Out of Magic Recipe (see full pedigree at Pedigree Online.)

Mean Ma Peters(granddaughter of triple crown winner and daughter of top WA TB sire) raced for 5 years, running over 30 races, multiple wins, and retired sound at 7 years old. She was used for schooling jumps and has very good knee action. Dispite all her time at the track, she is very athletic and handy in rough country, and just enjoys going out riding and working cows. She has lots of energy and is not for a beginner rider, but will go all day. Her jumping is great and she is very brave, but her trot is average and probably won't score well in dressage. She has been used as a brood mare the last three years, and has had three beautiful babies. She is easy to breed and is a great mother as well as saddle horse. Photos below are with her 6 week old foal, after having been pasturebred for 3 years. I tossed the saddle on and rode her for the photos-no buck in spite of being nervous about her foal. In spite of time off, she is fit and ready to go. CLICK HERE FOR CANTER VIDEO! and CLICK HERE FOR TROT VIDEO! You can see her 2008 filly for sale for $500 on our Babies page.
