HEALTH/SICKNESS/Emergency

Any child suspected of having a communicable disease or exhibits other signs and symptoms which may include any of the following, shall be placed in an isolation area. The condition will then be reported to the parent, guardian or other person authorized by the parent and the child shall be removed from the facility as soon as possible. Such children can return to the child development center 24 hours after the signs and symptoms disappear. (Licensing Regulations):

  1. Diarrhea (more than one abnormally loose stool within a 24 hour period)
  2. Rash, untreated infection, skin patches
  3. Reddened eyes, conjunctivitis (pink eye) or pus draining from the eye
  4. Vomiting (more than one time within a 24 hour period)
  5. Continuous cough, signs/symptoms of possible severe illness
  6. Ear ache, lice, ringworm or scabies that is untreated and contagious
  7. Temperature of one hundred degrees Fahrenheit or higher taken by the auxiliary's method when in combination with any other sign of illness
  8. Unusually dark urine and/or gray or white stool and yellowish skin or eyes
  9. Any other unusual sign or symptom of illness

If a child develops a contagious disease, the parents must bring a slip from the doctor giving permission for the child to return to the center. Any child sent home from school due to illness cannot be returned to the Child Care Center the same day. A child sent home due to lice must be nit free before returning.

Kid Kountry will contact and inform parents or guardians if we feel the child needs to see a doctor or go to the hospital for any reason other than an emergency.

MEDICATION

Parents are responsible for administration of all medication. Medicine will not be allowed at Kid Kountry. No teachers will be allowed to administer any kind of medication. There is no exception to this rule.

Parents are responsible for their child's medical treatment for illness or injury occurring in the facility.

It is the parent's responsibility to fill out the blue immunization record and have it signed by your family doctor. Clear copies from your medical provider will be accepted.

An OTC government form is to be filled out yearly by the parent allowing Kid Kountry to administer sunscreen and other NON INGESTIBLE Over the Counter items.

Emergency Preparedness plan

If there is any emergency such as described bellow we will call 911 and then contact the parent or guardian. Emergencies such as a bad fall, a car accident, a poison intake, etc. will be directed to 911 immediately. We conduct monthly fire drills and our meeting place for these is in the back of the building (for all centers).
